Anas Saleh

Research Technician

Anas Saleh, raised in New York City, is a research technician in the Rhee lab.  As an undergraduate at St. John’s University, he worked in the Florio lab to conduct experiments on charge transport processes in single molecule circuits, observe molecular self-assembly and interfacial phenomena using scanning probe microscopy and model electronic structure and transport in thin films of gold with VMD. As part of the STEM Scholars Program at St. John’s University, he also worked with other STEM major students to develop a protocol for the phytoextraction and remediation of lead pollutants from contaminated soil samples using broccoli plants - a fully funded project by an NSF grant. He is now currently working under Kyu Rhee to perform data analysis on metabolites relating to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. When he’s not doing data analysis, he is tending to the instruments to keep them maintained. Beyond the lab, Anas enjoys spending time with his friends, traveling (precovid) and enjoying a good show.
