Dr. Christopher Brown, M.D. Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Christopher Brown is a physician-scientist and instructor of medicine at Weill-Cornell Medical College where he splits his time between fundamental benchtop discovery and patient care at the associated New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City’s Upper East Side neighborhood. His research in the Rhee lab is focused on elucidating the metabolic and biochemical adaptations that respiratory pathogens employ to promote their own transmission, particularly Mycobacterium tuberculosis. He received his MD/PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison working in Laura L. Kiessling’s chemical biology laboratory where he studied the enzymatic mechanisms of cell wall assembly in Mycobacteria. Clinically, he is a board certified Infectious Diseases physician and is engaged in direct inpatient and outpatient care. When the lab coat comes off, he’s likely hosting dinner parties for friends, biking along the Hudson, or battling fellow trainers in Pokemon Go.
