Hannah Liu is a research technician in the Rhee Lab, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley in the Fletcher Lab, she investigated the role of CLE family genes in plant stem cell regulation through molecular genotyping and confocal microscopy. Hannah also completed an internship at QIAGEN evaluating the effectiveness of various TB diagnostic tests in vulnerable populations, sparking her desire to pursue research on infectious diseases. In the Rhee Lab, she is currently working on the transmission biology of tuberculosis by utilizing transcriptomics and lipidomics approaches. She is passionate about improving health equity, and supporting diversity in STEM spaces. Outside of the lab, Hannah can be found rock climbing, baking, birdwatching, caring for an indoor jungle of plants, and exploring NYC food enclaves.
